The Challenge
Processing 1m+Diamonds
The existing Laravel-based platform struggled to process and refresh its 1 million+ diamond inventory daily. It could not take this load, and it needed a scalable architecture that scales based on need.
Processing 2.5m+Media
Additionally, each diamond record required fetching images, videos, and GIA certificates, impacting website performance massively. So, it also needs to be scalable without affecting the existing production server at a low cost.
Improving DiamondSearch
With over 5m+ diamonds in inventory, filtering them with 11 filters with over 65+ parameters was a huge task, and it needed to be efficient for customers.
Improving UserExperience
A massive website redesign was also needed to improve user experience and loading speed.
The Solution
Diamonds Processing withAWS SQS
We refactored the entire code to process the diamonds from 3 different sources, implemented it with AWS SQS with Laravel Queues, and ran it on a separate server instance to run web production smoothly.
Lazy Fetching of Media withSQS
All the media are available, processed with the same Queue Architecture on a separate instance, and stored in low-cost and high-availability CDN Storage with Amazon S3.
New Diamond SearchInterface
Instead of traditional searches, search has been redeveloped with Laravel Livewire to provide a great user experience and improved database query timing with Database Indexing.
Redesign of aWebsite
A massive website redesign has been done to improve user experience and the overall loading speed of the website.
